Funding for this home ownership program is limited, yet sufficient to finance with the down payment of a home purchase in the county of a few more first time home buyers families.
The purpose of the Home ownership Program is to:
- Make first time home ownership a reality for low to moderate income households in the County of Haliburton and the city of Kawartha Lakes
- Ease the demand for rental housing by assisting renter households to buy affordable houses
- Offer down payment assistance for homebuyers through a 10% down payment assistance.
Eligibility of Applicants:
- Must be 18-years or older.
- Must be a first time home buyer.
- Not own or have an interest in other residential properties or owe arrears/damages to another housing program.
- Must be currently renting in Kawartha Lakes – County of Haliburton, and also looking to purchase a home within Kawartha Lakes or the County of Haliburton.
